The Purple Star was formed in 2005 in Manila, the Philippines, by the German Urban Planner and Urban Designer Mr. Axel Teschke. Using the skills and knowledge gained in 13 years of working as part of the Planning-Group Prof. Laage (PPL) in Hamburg, he developed his expertise in the field of urban development.

In Manila the activities focused on projects for the redevelopment of Poblacion, the old part of Makati, the financial capital of Manila and the Philippines.

After a short stay in Hong Kong Axel moved to Perth, Western Australia, to work with the renowned engineering company Cardno.

A relocation to Sydney, New South Wales, provided the opportunity to work as Senior Urban Designer for City Plan Urban Design (CPUD) with involvement in development projects in Metropolitan Sydney. Another focus of his work with CPUD  is on development projects in Papua New Guinea.
